Welcome to the Macarthur AFL Masters Football club. AFL Masters (formerly known as Superules and Masters Australian Football) is a modified version of Australian Rules football for mature age (32 years and over) players. AFL Masters is designed for people who still love their footy, want to stay fit and want to keep playing in a non-competative environment. AFL Masters focuses on fun and fitness, with slightly modified rules to make it safer and more enjoyable for everyone. Whether you are an experienced player or a complete novice, AFL Masters is aimed at you. All games are played in a friendly atmosphere where the aim is to play to the best of your ability while improving your fitness and making new friends. Local games are played at various venues in the Camden and Campbelltown areas every usually every fortnight. Throughout the the season we also play other AFL Masters clubs in a single match or as part of a round robin style carnival. There is no minimum requirement as to how often you train or play, so come along and experience the fun.
PHILOSOPHY OF MASTERS FOOTBALL AND GUIDELINES: The most important aspect of our game is that it is "football for fun". It is for this reason that there are no ladders, finals or teams selected on ability alone. All participants should adhere to this philosophy and accept these guidelines: 1. Egos are to be left at home. Criticism of other player's performance, abilities etc is not on. We are here to do our best and have fun. 2. Disputing the umpire's decisions or abuse of umpires is totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated. 3. On field fighting or bad language is totally unacceptable and will also not be tolerated. 4. Every effort will be made to give all players equal time on the ground. 5. Hospitality to visiting teams is very important. As we partake of other team's hospitality during our travels to away games, all players should recognise the importance of returning the favour. 6. Masters Australian Football recognises the importance of involving our families in our activities and will continue to make a conscious effort to do this. This is why we provide a free BBQ for the players and their families after each intraclub game. Remember at our age, it is not how many games you win, but how many games you play and the enjoyment gained from “Football for Fun”. For that reason we have modified rules and modified attitudes to playing, in order to minimise the risk of injury and keep us playing and enjoying our great game. |
